Wooden garden furniture is a type of furniture specially meant for outdoor use made of weather-resistant material. Another name for it is patio furniture.

A typical garden furniture set contains a table, four or six chair, and a parasol.  But it can also be custom made as per your requirement. These are also available in a bench set as well as picnic bench style, according to your use.

Though garden furniture are made of varieties of material, such as plastic, wood, aluminium, wicker, and wrought iron metal, but it is the wooden variety that is more stylish and long-lasting. In the wooden variety, the teakwood furniture is the best. Some other good varieties of wood are African mahogany, Japanese oak and American cherry.

Teakwood is the best of the lot because it has dense grains and color ranges from light brown to dark brown.  It is resistant to swelling, shrinking, rotting, and warping. Because of its quality and huge demand, there are many duplications of it in the market. A wood called Nyatoh, closely resembles teakwood but is not as durable. Since these are made of sapwood, so gradually, they become termite affected and also split and warp overtime.

Some manufacturers treat cheap quality wooden furniture with teak oil and pass them off as wooden garden furniture. But once the oil wears off, the wood becomes vulnerable. Certainly, this furniture comes cheap.
